UC Riverside grad photos.

What originally started as the University of California Citrus Experiment Station, UC Riverside became its own campus in 1959. The school is located near Box Spring Mountain and sits at a max elevation of 1,450 ft, which is why they’re known as the Highlanders.

The campus is located in the Inland Empire, which means hot weather during peak grad season. So make sure you’re adequately hydrated during your session. Despite the heat, the campus is flat and the most popular spots are relatively close by making it easy on your body

1. tomás rivera library arches.

Named after the first minority chancellor of a UC campus and the first Latino leader of a major research university, Tomás Rivera Library serves as UC Riverside’s main library. These arches are a major unifying theme at UCR and appear to be built in a modern, brutalist style.

2. the bell tower.

Rising high at 161 feet above the middle of UC Riverside, is the bell tower, the campus’ most prominent landmark. Inside the tower is a 48-bell carillon made up of different shapes and sizes which ring every hour.

3. ucr sign.

The big UCR letters can be found near the Highlander Union Building, which marks the center of campus life at UC Riverside. For grad photos, It’s the most popular spot, and just like many other schools, a line will form. Consider starting here and waiting in line before your session.

4. gary anderson hall.

One of the oldest buildings at UC Riverside, Anderson Hall used to house UCR’s Citrus Experiment Station. The historic building is now home to various offices and classrooms for the School of Business.
